New EPA boss Scott Pruitt has commented on CO2 and climate change. People note that he is denying basic scientific facts.
This is of course exactly what was to be expected. After all, American policy is sold to the highest bidder, the highest bidder is the oil industry, and people on both sides of the debate think that it is in the interest of the oil industry to deny the problem.
The last point is crucial. Once the oil companies realize that it is in their interest to have strict supply limits (leading to higher prices), people like Pruitt will sing exactly the opposite tune.
