As I have said before: Voting should be done by humans and not by machines in the first place. Toss out all the voting machines, or at least demote them to tools for legally not binding exit polls.
Any small gain in the speed of counting by doing so electronically is pointless if no one can trust the result.
And Diebold sure doesn't help people trust their systems by trying to suppress critical voices.
